Bill McKibben

Save the Date: Lamoille Neighbors is sponsoring a talk by Bill McKibben on March 12.

Bill McKibben is an author and environmentalist whose 1989 book, The End of Nature, is regarded as the first book about climate change for a general audience. Bill is a founder of 350.org, the first planet-wide, grassroots climate change movement, which has organized twenty thousand rallies around the world. His newest book, Falter, is a powerful and sobering call to arms, to save not only our planet but also our humanity itself.

Bill McKibben is a Schumann Distinguished Scholar at Middlebury College.

WHAT IS LAMOILLE NEIGHBORS?

Lamoille Neighbors is part of the Village-to-Village movement, an innovative nation-wide organization that has emerged in the last decade in the organizational field of support services for older adults. We are committed to helping our members age in a place of their choosing, closely connected to their communities.

WE HAVE A VISION

Lamoille Neighbors aims to change the culture of aging. We believe that age is a season of growth and meaning.  We can find contentment and purpose in our older years through both giving and receiving volunteer service. We can continue life-long learning and maintain wellness and find new friends. We can remain in the homes we love with support from our neighbors.
